Advanced Silk Painting

Silk painting for the more adventurous

This requires a little experience or a stronger sense of adventure , but still follows the techniques in the beginners course. The designs you can select from, are already printed on the silk. However, in this class you can bring in, or select a template for you to outline yourself.

You will be shown how to use different techniques and mediums to produce a beautiful piece. These can be used for further projects such as cushions and scarves . This might just be the course that gives you the confidence to progress to bigger projects.

You will be given the silk and hoop and designs to pick - or you can bring your own, to draw on the silk with resist. Then we can test to make sure it wont "bleed" before giving you the paints to begin mixing, blending, and painting.

There will be metallic paints available to use too.

You SHOULD be able to finish your piece in time, but this isn't always the case and if so I'll try to provide take away paint pots and you can take the hoop and your work with you to complete at home. This completely depends on the size of the project you select, although I try to match the project to the time scale. Either way you'll get continued support
